When you study abroad having health insurance is essential. You might have coverage under your parents plan, but it might not be adequate, as it will not cover evacuation, repatriation, and important travel benefits. There are many insurance plans to choose from for international students before you arrive in Korea. There are many student insurance plans that can be found on the internet that will fully cover your medical expenses while you study abroad in Korea. Most plans are fairly affordable and came be purchased for increments of 3 months, 6 months, or more depending on the length of your stay.

Once you have purchased health insurance as a international student you will be a able to get treatment on or off campus without having to pay any additional fees. You simply get treatment and the hospital is reimbursed through your insurance provider. There is no need to worry about paying any out of pocket fees and waiting to be reimbursed by the insurance company.

Students must submit proof or travel / medical coverage at the beginning of the semester. Our school has a free on-campus clinic for minor things. Many insurance companies ask that the students pay the medical fee up front while abroad and then are reimbursed later.
